Jan Kovářík & Enrico Minguzzi - Specimens
A dialogue between Czech sculptor Jan Kovářík and Italian painter Enrico Minguzzi, contrasting biomorphic forms with textured paintings inspired by nature and abstraction.
Jan Kovářík (born 1980) is a Czech sculptor who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under professor Jindřich Zeithamml. His abstract works draw on organic, biomorphic shapes - evoking fungi, algae or cellular growth. He uses modern synthetic materials such as acrylates and fibreglass, treating colour not as decoration but as an integral part of each piece. His monument to Maria Theresa was unveiled in Prague in 2020.
