About

Grouper is the solo project of American musician Liz Harris, who has been blending ambient, psychedelic folk and dream pop since 2005. Her recordings are built on layered guitars, a voice submerged in tape hiss and reverb, and an atmosphere that feels like a half-remembered dream. Her breakthrough came with Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill (2008), followed by albums such as Ruins and Shade. Besides Grouper, Harris also records as Helen, Nivhek and Raum.
