About

Gnoss is a Scottish folk quartet from Orkney, formed in 2015 by fiddler Graham Rorie and guitarist-vocalist Aidan Moodie, later joined by flautist Connor Sinclair and bodhran player Craig Baxter - all alumni of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Their sound layers acoustic textures with strong original songwriting, and their 2023 album Stretching Skyward introduced electronic elements alongside their traditional roots. Three-time nominees at the Scots Trad Music Awards, they have sold out Celtic Connections in Glasgow three years running and toured across Europe, Australia and North America.

Gnoss released the single Hjop - the first new recording from the album Stretching Skyward (2023) - and launched their most extensive British tour with 21 stops.

The band performed at the Folk Alliance International fair in Montreal as an officially selected performer.

Gnoss were selected as official performers at the world music fair WOMEX in Manchester.

The band completed their first Australian tour, and in 2025 debut concerts in North America followed.
