
UNTERWASSER: Out
An Italian multidisciplinary puppet theatre performance about coming of age and the initiation journey into adulthood. A poetic show with archetypal imagery that speaks to both adults and children.
Giulia De Canio is an Italian theatre maker and performer specialising in puppet and visual theatre. She trained at the Scuola di teatro di Bologna Alessandra Galante Garrone and studied philosophy at La Sapienza in Rome, working with a range of European theatre practitioners. In 2014 she co-founded the research group UnterWasser with Valeria Bianchi and Aurora Buzzetti, a company that explores the crossover between puppet theatre and the visual arts. For the show Out she shared responsibility for dramaturgy, direction, puppet-making and set design.
