Frank Sinatra (1915-1998) was an American singer and actor of Italian descent whose career stretched across six decades, from the swing era of the 1930s through the 1990s. His baritone voice and meticulous phrasing redefined the interpretation of jazz and pop standards, making him one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century, with over 150 million records sold worldwide. Beyond music, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for From Here to Eternity (1953) and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1985.
UMe and Frank Sinatra Enterprises released a double vinyl collection The Giants of Jazz with newly remastered recordings of Sinatra with Count Basie and Duke Ellington.
