Eric Johnson (born August 17, 1954, Austin, Texas) is an American guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist whose playing spans rock, blues, jazz, and fusion. He rose to international fame with the platinum album Ah Via Musicom (1990) and its Grammy-winning instrumental 'Cliffs of Dover', and has since released over seventeen albums. Rolling Stone placed him among the 100 Greatest Guitarists of the 21st century, and Guitar Player magazine has called him one of the most respected guitarists on the planet.
