Ed Rush (real name Ben Settle, born 1973 in London) is a British drum and bass DJ and producer who has been releasing records since 1992. Together with Optical (Matt Quinn) he forms the duo Ed Rush & Optical and co-founded Virus Recordings, the label closely identified with the neurofunk sound. Their 1998 debut album Wormhole is widely regarded as a landmark of the genre.
Ed Rush & Optical performed at the Northern Nights 2025 festival in California (Piercy, Cooks Valley Campground) and a week later played at Summer Bells in Atlanta.
