Festival ZASTÁVKA
Music festival ZASTÁVKA in Mutějovice near Rakovník. Live music and celebration in a scenic outdoor setting.
Diversa Quartet is a string quartet from Brno operating under the umbrella of Ensemble Opera Diversa, an ensemble with over two decades of history. Founded in summer 2022 to address a gap in Czech concert life for contemporary quartet repertoire, it draws its four members - Barbara Tolarová, Jan Bělohlávek, David Křivský and Iva Wiesnerová - from the parent ensemble's core players. The quartet deliberately avoids well-worn warhorses, focusing instead on Czech and international contemporary music, and regularly gives world premieres of newly commissioned works.
Diversa Quartet will perform on October 2, 2025 at the castle in Žďár nad Sázavou with the program Composers of Silence dedicated to works by Novák, Burian, and Kapr.
At the concert Tempus est iocundum at the Löw-Beer villa in Brno (April 7, 2025), the quartet for the first time compiled a program exclusively from domestic works and presented the world premiere of String Quartet No. 4 by Radim Bednarik.
At the Musical Inventory (May 29, 2024, aula of the VUT Brno rectorate) the quartet presented the world premiere of the string quartet Four by Slavomír Hořínek, originally written for the Prague Spring competition.
The magazine KlasikaPlus named Diversa Quartet one of the key ensembles of the diverse musical spring of Ensemble Opera Diversa in 2025.
