About

Divadlo Verze is an independent Prague theatre company founded in 2014 by two acting couples - Linda Rybová with David Prachař and Jana Janěková jr. with Igor Chmela - together with director Thomas Zielinski. The ensemble focuses on witty conversation-driven comedies it calls "intellectual boulevard theatre" - plays that entertain while prompting genuine reflection. Their home stage is Divadlo v Celetné in Prague, from which they tour regularly across the Czech Republic and occasionally abroad.

  • 2026-04

    Theatre Verze presented on April 29, 2026 the premiere of the comedy Mirror Effect (Léonore Confino) directed by Thomas Zieliński with Igor Chmel in the leading role.

  • 2026-02

    Theatre Verze cancelled the planned premiere of the comedy Inheritance (scheduled for February 15, 2026) and announced that it would not stage the production at all; ticket holders received refunds.

    David Prachař and Linda Rybová publicly confirmed that they have been living separately for some time; in a joint statement they assured audiences that their personal situation would not affect the operation of Theatre Verze.

  • 2025-09

    In September 2025, a renewed premiere of the production Happy Chosen One (based on the play by Ramón Madaula) took place, directed by Ondřej Rychlý.
