About

David Landštof (born 28 June 1983 in Prague - Bubeneč) is a Czech drummer who has worked professionally across genres - folk, pop, jazz and rock - since 2001. He grew up in a musical family: his father played drums in underground bands, his great-grandmother was a music professor and violinist. He has performed with Lenka Dusilová, Radůza, Aneta Langerová, Xindl X and the band Slza, and is a Sabian cymbal endorser. In 2014 he co-founded the independent label Tranzistor; since 2018 he has also worked at Supraphon. Since 2019 he has been restoring a listed 18th-century building - the Old School in Křižany near Liberec - which he uses as a cultural venue.

    Headliner.cz published an extensive interview with Landštof about his life between concerts, the Tranzistor publishing house, Supraphon, and the reconstruction of Staré školy Křižany.

    Landštof confirmed in the interview that he continues to actively play drums with the band Slza and with British singer-songwriter James Harries.

    The Association for the Restoration of Staré školy Křižany, chaired by Landštof, organized the second edition of the multi-genre festival Školní tranzistor as part of the Days of Folk Architecture.

    Czech Television filmed a report about Landštof's project Stará škola Křižany for the program Náš venkov.

  • 2019

    Landštof began the reconstruction of a cultural monument - Staré školy in Křižany (Liberec Region), a timber-framed building from the mid-18th century.
