
Dvořák Festival: O sole mio ...
Tenor Daniel Matoušek and pianist Václav Krahulík present a programme of Italian melodies and piano works by Chopin, Gershwin, and other masters.
Daniel Matoušek (born 18 May 1997 in Ústí nad Labem) is a Czech lyric tenor and permanent soloist of the National Theatre Opera in Prague since the 2022/23 season. His repertoire spans roles such as Tamino, Nemorino, Don Ottavio and Rinuccio, and he has appeared as a guest at every major Czech opera house. In the 2025/26 season he made his Royal Opera House debut as Janek in Janáček's The Makropulos Case, conducted by Jakub Hrůša.
Matoušek made his debut at the London Royal Opera House in the role of Janko in Janáček's The Makropulos Case (directed by Katie Mitchell, conducted by Jakub Hrůša).
He performed with the Bamberg Symphony in Dvořák's Stabat Mater at the Vienna Musikverein.
He performed the role of Edmond in the premiere of Puccini's Manon Lescaut at the Prague State Opera (premiere 27. 3. 2025).
He released his debut album 'O Sole Mio' with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, featuring Italian and Neapolitan songs.
At the National Theatre Brno, he made his debut in the roles of Mazal/Blankytný/Petřík in a new production of Janáček's The Excursions of Mr. Brouček directed by Robert Carsen.
