Čechomor is a Czech folk band founded in 1988, built around Karel Holas and František Černý, who arrange and perform Czech, Moravian and Slovak folk songs in a distinctly modern style. The group rose to national prominence with the 2001 album Proměny, produced by Jaz Coleman, which earned three Anděl Awards. Over more than three decades they have toured Europe, North America, Australia and Asia, and in 2002 received a Czech Lion award for their soundtrack to the film Rok ďábla.
Čechomor released a new studio album Švarní šohajové on November 8, 2024, which combines Czech, Moravian, Silesian, and Rusyn folk songs with original compositions inspired by the Balkans and India.
The album Švarní šohajové was christened on December 1, 2024, at a concert in Prague's Hybernia Theatre as part of the Christmas Kooperativa Tour.
In spring 2025, the band embarked on the Spring Kooperativa Tour 2025 with the new album Švarní šohajové, which included 15 stops across the Czech Republic.
In March 2025, the first weekend fan gathering with the band took place at a winery near Kaplicka, featuring a concert in the cellar, autographs, and cimbalom music.
The Summer Kooperativa Tour 2025 continues with concerts in June and July at various venues in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including Olomouc, Znojmo, and Myjava.
