Bohemyst is a black/death metal band from Volyně in South Bohemia, playing a style they call "bohemian dark metal" - a blend of black, death and doom metal with orchestral layers and Czech-language lyrics. The band formed in 2017 as a direct successor to Avenger (1992-2017), with members including veterans of Master's Hammer and Dark Angels. Their 2021 debut album Čerň a smrt (Blackness and Death), released on Hammerheart Records / Petrichor, earned strong reviews in the Czech and international metal press. The band also organises the Enter The Eternal Fire Fest (ETEF), an open-air metal festival held annually in Volyně since 2015.
Bohemyst were confirmed as performers at ETEF 2026 (24.-25. 7. 2026, Volyně) - it will be their eighth performance at this festival.
The band is working on a second album with the working title Okultura, which is to be a conceptual album full of horror stories; its premiere is planned for ETEF 2026.
Bohemyst performed at the jubilee 10th ETEF 2025 festival (25.-26. 7. 2025, Volyně) together with bands Dødheimsgard, Bewitched and others.
Bohemyst performed at the Near Death Experience Fest festival at Buzice Castle near Blatná (7. 6. 2025).
At the 9th ETEF 2024 festival (19.-20. 7. 2024) Bohemyst performed a set composed of songs from their debut and for the first time presented live samples from their upcoming second album.
