BIDON

About

Bidon is a rock band from Jablunkov, Czech Republic, active since 1970 - making them one of the longest-running rock acts in the country. Their sound draws on white blues, beat music and early-1970s classic rock, with a mix of covers and original Czech, dialect and Polish lyrics. During the communist normalization era they were forced to rename themselves POLOM to pass mandatory auditions, though local audiences always knew them as Bidon. For their 50th anniversary they released the compilation CD Jubileum, with the town of Jablunkov co-sponsoring a vinyl edition.
