A legendary Czech musician and humorist, Ivan Mládek returns with his Banjo Band to perform his most beloved songs, from Jožin z bažin to Prachovské skály.
Banjo Band is a Czech musical group led by Ivan Mládek, active since 1966 and playing country, folk and Dixieland with a distinctly comic edge. Mládek has written over 600 songs and the band has performed thousands of concerts across the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, the USA and beyond. Their 1977 song Jožin z bažin became a cult classic at home and an unexpected radio hit in Poland in 2008, prompting a full Polish-language album.
Banjo Band has several concerts planned for summer and autumn 2026 in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including in Sedmihorky u Turnova, Brandýs nad Labem, Slaném, Mohelnici, Bratislavě, and Havlíčkově Brodě.
In February 2025, Banjo Band Ivana Mládka performed at Jazzfest Znojmo 2025 in Domeček in Znojmo.
In April 2025, Banjo Band performed in the Zámecká jízdárna in Český Krumlov.
The Banjo Band concert in Velké Meziříčí was moved in June 2024 from the Nová synagoga to a new date of November 22, 2024 at Jupiter Club.
