UNTERWASSER: Out
An Italian multidisciplinary puppet theatre performance about coming of age and the initiation journey into adulthood. A poetic show with archetypal imagery that speaks to both adults and children.
Aurora Buzzetti is an Italian visual artist, sculptor, and performer who co-founded the Rome-based group UnterWasser in 2014 alongside Valeria Bianchi and Giulia De Canio. The group works at the intersection of puppet theatre and visual art, pursuing both stage productions and exhibition installations. Buzzetti handles set design, puppet-making, and costumes; her interest in Alexander Calder's work feeds directly into the wire sculptures the company uses in its shadow performances. UnterWasser has toured across four continents and won multiple awards, including the Eolo Award 2016.
