Apolena Vanišová

About

Apolena Vanišová (born 1986) is a Czech theatre director who trained at KALD DAMU under professor Karel Makoně. Her work sits on the border between theatrical performance and installation - she builds meaning through scenic images, objects and space rather than text or narrative. She collaborates regularly with MeetFactory in Prague and won the Divadelní noviny Award for the project Kračun. Her piece Zákon řady, staged at Studio Hrdinů, draws on biologist Paul Kammerer's theory of seriality.
