Aleš Brázdil (born 1983 in Jaroměř) is a Czech painter who graduated from professor Zdeněk Beran's classical painting studio at Prague's Academy of Fine Arts in 2009. He builds his work from photographic and digital source material, turning it into figurative compositions and psychologically charged portraits. His painting plays with visual unease - hovering between illusionistic realism and a more expressive register. His works are held, among other collections, by the National Gallery Prague.
