Kaspar's Great Adventure
A theatrical performance staged at Lnáře Castle.
This four-wing baroque castle in Lnáře was initiated by Aleš Ferdinand Vratislav z Mitrovic in the 1660s and completed in 1683-1686 by the Černín family to designs by Italian architect G. B. Madera. The highlight inside is the two-storey Great Hall with a ceiling fresco depicting the wedding of Zeus and Hera; the four-hectare English park around the castle is dotted with zodiac sculptures by Ignaz Michael Platzer. Listed as a cultural monument since 1963, the castle has been open to the public since 1999 and offers guided tours, accommodation, a pond-farming museum and a cat museum.
