Vyšehrad is a historic fortress on a rocky promontory above the Vltava, one of the oldest sites tied to Czech statehood. The Purkrabství - a Gothic building within the complex - now functions as a cultural centre hosting exhibitions, concerts and social events. The park is also home to the Slavín pantheon, burial place of many prominent Czech artists and intellectuals.
