About the venue

Bzenec sits at the heart of the Slovácká wine subregion, and its wine cellars are among the oldest in South Moravia - viticulture here is documented from the 12th century. The cellars are dug deep into loess, with up to 24 metres of earth above them and some passages stretching over 70 metres. Beneath the château lies an extensive cellar labyrinth already mentioned in 1604, housing giant barrels carved by local craftsman František Budař. Popular annual events include the Open Cellars Day and the Cellars by Candlelight evening.
