About the venue

Bečov nad Teplou Castle and Chateau is a national cultural monument set in the Slavkov Forest south of Karlovy Vary. The complex brings together a Gothic castle from the early 14th century, the Renaissance Pluh Palace, and a Baroque chateau built in 1750-1753, all administered by the National Heritage Institute. The centrepiece is the Romanesque reliquary of St. Maurus from the early 13th century - a goldsmith's work of European significance discovered in the castle chapel in 1985 and on public display since 2002. Guided tours cover the chateau interiors, and the grounds include a castle lookout and a nature trail.
