Starý židovský hřbitov

Prague

About the venue

The Old Jewish Cemetery in Prague's Josefov quarter is one of the best-preserved medieval Jewish burial grounds in Europe, dating to roughly the first half of the 15th century. More than twelve thousand tombstones still stand, and in places the dead were buried in up to nine layers on top of one another - a result of the ghetto's strictly limited space.
