About the venue

Slunovrat is an annual multi-genre festival held every June across several sites in Opava's historic centre - from náměstí Osvoboditelů to St. Wenceslas Church and the House of Art. The programme spans music, theatre, literature, contemporary circus, lectures and food, with quality rather than genre as the guiding principle. The festival grew out of an event called Hradecký slunovrat and runs entirely on volunteer effort. Beyond the main June edition, it returns in November as the Winter Edition and keeps a year-round presence through the Evenings with Slunovrat series.
