Uherčice
The courtyard of Uherčice Castle is part of the extensive State Castle Uherčice complex in the Znojmo district, a national cultural monument administered by the National Heritage Institute. The arcaded courtyard with its prismatic tower was built in the last quarter of the 16th century during the transformation of a Gothic fortress into a Renaissance residence. The castle is nicknamed the "textbook of styles" for its layers of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. The courtyard is accessible without a guide and serves as a venue for cultural events.
