Vysočina Museum Jihlava - Telč Branch

Telč

About the venue

The Telč museum is one of the oldest in south-western Moravia, founded in 1886 and a branch of Muzeum Vysočiny Jihlava since 1963. Since April 2023 it has been housed in the former hospital complex in the Staré Město quarter, after years at the castle and in temporary premises. The permanent exhibition "Křehká krása rašelinišť" (Fragile Beauty of Peatlands) covers the wetland landscapes around Telč, alongside a display devoted to sculptor and traveller F. V. Foit and his African ethnographic collection. The museum also runs lectures and educational programmes for schools.
