Museum of Technical Toys

Velvary

About the venue

The Museum of Technical Toys in Velvary displays tin mechanical toys from 1840-1960, driven by clockwork, steam engines or electric motors, with the oldest items dating from the 18th century. It runs two permanent exhibitions - "Mechanical Toys 1840-1950" and "Railway Toys 1920-1960" - and visits include live runs of historical tin trains on an electrified layout of around 30 m². The collection also documents the output of lesser-known Czechoslovak toy manufacturers.
