Velvar Houses Tell Their Stories
An exhibition exploring the history of Velvar's most significant buildings through their own stories, running until November at the Municipal Museum.
Městské muzeum Velvary operates across three sites: the main building on Pražská street, the Renaissance Pražská brána gate, and the Galerie Na špýcharu in the former deanery courtyard. Six rooms of permanent displays trace the town's history from the Middle Ages to the First Republic, with highlights including archaeological finds, the Malovar tin hoard, and paintings by Jiří Georg Kars, a member of the Paris School. The art nouveau hall hosts concerts and lectures; the Pražská brána also has a camera obscura available on request.
