The Museum of the Beskydy in Frýdek-Místek is housed in the historic Frýdek Castle, perched on a promontory above the Ostravice river since the 14th century. Since 1960 it has been open to the public as a contributory organisation of the Moravian-Silesian Region. It offers permanent exhibitions (Beskydy – Nature and People, the Castle Circuit with the Knights' Hall, Frýdek and Místek, the Óndra Łysohorský Memorial), temporary exhibitions and a varied cultural programme. The museum also administers the Hukvaldy Castle ruins.
