Historic narrow-gauge steam railway opens its 2026 season in Mladějov with the first trains running on May 30 on an eleven-kilometre line built during World War I.
Mladějovská průmyslová dráha is a 600 mm narrow-gauge railway built between 1917 and 1924 to haul clay and coal from the Hřebeč mines to a fireclay works in Mladějov. Industrial operations ended in 1991, and since 1997 the 11 km line has run tourist trains - steam and diesel locomotives - through to Hřebeč. The former factory grounds also house an industrial museum with exhibits covering railway, agricultural and construction machinery.
