About the venue

The Lidový dům (People's House) in Blovice was built in 1927 and has served as the town's main cultural venue ever since. It became municipal property in 1980 and now houses the city cultural centre; a major renovation in 2009-2010 also brought the town library under the same roof. The large hall seats 350 and hosts concerts, theatre performances, dances and children's events, while an open-air cinema operates behind the building. The venue sits close to the town hall, by the Úslava river.
