About the venue

This open-air cinema in Boskovice sits between the town's castle ruins and the château, close to the château greenhouse. Construction started in 1956 and the first screening took place in 1961; from 1964 onwards an annual film festival was held here. The screen measures 32 × 14 metres - the largest in the Czech Republic - and the venue seats 1,800. From June to September it hosts new film releases alongside open-air concerts and festivals, with a covered section for around 100 people when the weather turns.
