Church in Darkness - Unconventional Night Tours
An unconventional night tour of St. Margaret's Church featuring candlelit Baroque interiors, organ music, and theatrical performances.
The parish church of St. Margaret forms a baroque landmark together with the château and has been a national cultural monument since 2002. The rebuilding in 1716-1782 is attributed to Jakub Prandtauer, with the Viennese architect Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt reportedly involved in a consulting role. The dome is covered by a large fresco painted by Karel František Tepper in 1734. After a major restoration in 2019-2022, the south tower is now open as a viewing point overlooking the château gardens; guided tours are available year-round by prior arrangement.
