Michna and Monteverdi
A concert exploring Adam Michna's larger sacred compositions alongside Monteverdi's works, performed by SILENTIUM! ensemble and Czech Ensemble Baroque.
A baroque parish church built in 1710-1712 at the initiative of Count Adam Joachim of Rottal, then lord of the Napajedla estate, and not consecrated until 1741 by the Olomouc bishop Jakub Arnošt. A broad staircase lined with statues of saints leads up to the entrance from Masaryk Square. Flanking the portal are Renaissance tomb slabs of Bedřich and Bartoloměj of Žerotín, dated 1568, transferred here from the demolished Gothic predecessor. The church is a listed cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
