About the venue

The station at Kamenický Šenov is the terminus of the so-called Šenovka - a glassmakers' branch line whose 4.5 km track to Česká Kamenice opened in February 1886. Regular services ended in 1992, and since 1997 the tourist Kamenický motoráček has run here with historic rolling stock. The station building houses a small railway museum with signalling equipment, an old telephone exchange and other items from the line's working history.
