Gallery as a Living Room
Jiří Švestka Gallery reimagines itself as a domestic space. Three decades after its founding, the white cube takes on a new character - artworks by partner artists, furniture, and design.
A private contemporary and modern art gallery founded in 1995 by art historian Jiří Švestka - one of the first commercial galleries of its kind in the Czech Republic. It occupies a residential building on Janáčkovo nábřeží in Prague 5, with three exhibition rooms and a private depot. The gallery regularly shows Czech and international artists and takes part in major art fairs worldwide. Between 2009 and 2017 it also ran a branch in Berlin.
