About the venue

Hudební divadlo Karlín (Karlín Musical Theatre) is a Prague city-funded theatre housed in a Neo-Baroque building dating from 1881 in the Karlín district. The third oldest theatre in Prague underwent extensive reconstruction after the 2002 floods and reopened in 2006 with a capacity of 921 seats. Since 1945 it has specialised in operettas and musicals, with all performances accompanied by a live orchestra, choir and ballet company. A small stage seating 150 was added in the 2023/2024 season.
