About the venue

Hradec nad Moravicí state castle stands on a rocky spur above the confluence of the Moravice river and the Hradečná stream. The original Přemyslid stronghold was rebuilt by King Přemysl Otakar II in the 13th century and reshaped over the centuries in Renaissance, Baroque and Empire styles. The complex comprises the Empire-style White Castle, the neo-Gothic Red Castle with its gate tower, and the White Tower, all set within a large English landscape park. It has been a national cultural monument since 2001.
