Vrskamytska Pivooslava 2026
The 11th beer festival featuring tastings from microbreweries, live rock music all day, and a dedicated children's programme with horse rides and medieval entertainment.
Vrškamýk (also known as Kamýk or Hunec) is a castle ruin about one kilometre west of Kamýk nad Vltavou. It was built in the first half of the 13th century under Wenceslaus I and completed by Přemysl Otakar II, serving as a summer residence of the Přemyslid rulers and an administrative centre for the left bank of the Vltava. After Karlštejn was built, the castle fell out of use and was recorded as derelict in 1569. The site is freely accessible year-round; a wooden lookout tower and a children's playground with medieval-inspired features stand in the lower bailey.
