Night Tours of Lipnice Castle
An atmospheric evening theatrical tour of Lipnice Castle with a costumed guide, featuring fencing, dance, and live music. Recommended for adults and older children.
Lipnice Castle was founded around 1310 by the lords of Lichtenburg and rebuilt in the early 16th century by the Trčka of Lípa family as a late-Gothic residence. A devastating fire in 1869 turned it into a ruin; it is now managed by the National Heritage Institute. Visitors can explore the Gothic chapel of St. Lawrence, extensive cellars with the remains of a medieval banqueting hall, and a castle museum with archaeological finds. The castle is also known for its connection to writer Jaroslav Hašek, who worked here as a guide during his years in Lipnice.
