Historické rodinné řezbářství U Šedinů

Bechyně

About the venue

The Šedina family woodcarving workshop in Bechyně carries on a tradition going back to 1842, when Libor Šedina's great-great-grandfather founded a nativity-carving business in the Šumava region. Today the fifth generation - father Karel and son Libor - keeps the craft alive, holding two exhibitions each year in the ground floor of their family villa. At Christmas they display a collection of nativity scenes including the 22-metre-long Blatský betlém; from spring to autumn a Passion nativity carved from linden wood with over two hundred figures is on show - the only one of its kind in Bohemia and Moravia.
