About the venue

Mělník's historic centre sits on a raised spur above the confluence of the Elbe and Vltava rivers. The Renaissance castle with its wine cellars and the Church of St Peter and Paul with its ossuary are the main landmarks. Beneath náměstí Míru lies an extensive network of medieval underground passages, home to the widest well in the Czech Republic, recorded in the Czech Book of Records. The walking circuit covers 13 stops along a 2 km route, with an audio guide available in four languages.
