Ida
An exhibition of painter Ida Münzberg (1876–1955) showcases her portraits and landscapes of Těšínska. The work of this Vienna art school graduate is displayed in the museum's historic building through the end of August.
The Historical Building of the Těšínsko Museum stands on Hlavní třída in Český Těšín. The neo-classicist house was built in 1885-1886 by local architect Alois Jedek as his private residence; its richly decorated facade, stone-balustrade balconies and stucco-adorned vaulted passages make it one of the finest historicist buildings in this part of the city. The museum has occupied the premises since 1951, and after a full renovation in 2018-2019 it reopened in June 2020 with a new permanent exhibition tracing the history of Těšín Silesia from prehistory to recent times. The building also houses a lecture hall, a children's play area, the Silesia library reading room and a courtyard lapidarium.
