About the venue

Divadlo Ungelt is a private chamber theatre in Prague's Old Town, opened on 2 October 1995. It is housed in the cellar of a building within the Týn Courtyard (Ungelt) complex, whose Romanesque foundations date from the 11th century. The auditorium seats just under a hundred spectators, and the repertoire focuses on plays with two to four characters; the theatre's actors have repeatedly won the prestigious Cena Thálie award. Since 2005 it also runs an open-air summer stage on Nový Svět in Hradčany.
