Ostrava
Divadlo loutek Ostrava is a professional puppet theatre for children and youth, founded in 1953 and established by the statutory city of Ostrava. Since 1999 it has been housed in a modern oval-plan building at Černá louka, designed by architects Petr Hájek and Gabriela Minářová, with five giant wooden puppets at the entrance. The theatre stages performances for schools on weekdays and family shows on Sundays. Every odd year it hosts the Spectaculo Interesse international puppet festival, the largest of its kind in the Czech Republic.
