About the venue

Biograf Kotva on Lidická třída is the last classic single-screen cinema in České Budějovice. The building was completed in 1928 to a design by architect Karel Chochola for the Sokol II gymnastics association, and has gone through several name changes since. Today it screens in digital 3D with Dolby Atmos sound and co-organises festivals such as Jeden svět, Tady Vary and the French Film Festival. The attached café with a garden terrace also hosts exhibitions and small concerts.
