The barber Dalibor Vrána certainly does not have an easy life. Women like him, and he likes them in return, and because Dalibor is a man of action, a considerable portion of his honestly earned income is swallowed up by alimony. He decides to improve his difficult financial situation in a completely original way. He takes advantage of the fact that people in restaurants often mistake him for a waiter and begins to collect payments. It doesn't take long before he becomes an elusive phantom of Prague restaurants (and later restaurants outside Prague as well), a terror to negligent waiters. He becomes increasingly daring and successfully manages to disguise the source of his income from his wife and those around him by claiming that he earns money in nightclubs playing the violin. In Karlovy Vary, he pulls off a daring trick by organizing a chase of local waiters against himself. But as they say, you can only go to the well so many times before...

Zdeněk Svěrák is a Czech writer, screenwriter, and actor. He is well known for writing song lyrics in collaboration with Jaroslav Uhlíř, and as the screenwriter of films by Jiří Menzel and his son Jan Svěrák. He won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for the screenplay of Kolja (1997).
Eliška Balzerová is a Czech actress known for her work in theatre and television. She has appeared in numerous Czech TV series and stage productions. In her one-woman show Můj báječný rozvod, she portrays all fifteen characters on her own.
He graduated from DAMU, after which he played for three seasons at the Vinohrady Theatre (then the Czechoslovak Army Theatre). He then anchored at the Drama Club until 1992, where his performances won him critical acclaim. He briefly performed at the National Theatre, but left the theatre permanently in August 1994.
