A class of fifteen-year-olds loses their favorite teacher and gets Romega (Radovan Lukavský), the most hated teacher at the school called "Romadůra", as their new class teacher, whose daughter is also a student in this class. The children try to make the new teacher hate his role as class teacher through mischief and deliberate provocation. They set up, for example, a prescribed band saw in the workshop for him, which injures the teacher quite badly. During the investigation, a girl takes the blame for it and is to be expelled for it. It turns out that she confessed out of love for the true culprit, an excellent classmate. However, due to interventions and intrigues, he is not supposed to be expelled. Teacher Romega is also persuaded by his friend, an inspector, not to insist on measuring everyone by the same yardstick.
