Josef Somr is a Czech actor known for his work in theatre and film. He gained wide recognition for his lead role as Ludvík in Jaromil Jireš's film The Joke (Žert, 1968), based on Milan Kundera's debut novel. He is considered one of the notable faces of the Czech New Wave cinema.
