Roman colonizers conquered Gaul - except for one single village where fifty inhabitants can defend themselves against overwhelming odds thanks to a miraculous strengthening potion. It is made by the local druid Panoramix. Roman governor Detritus wants to seize the potion and seize the power of ruler Caesar. But he does not reckon with the fact that clever Asterix and his friend Obelix, who fell into the magic potion as a child and therefore has strength even without the potion, with the help of Obelix's little dog Idefix and of course the druid Panoramix, will give him a hard time - and they will have a great time doing it. The viewers who watch this lavish adaptation of one of the most popular European comics will also have a great time.
